What does MaskView do ?

MaskView clears the inside and outside of your SCBA mask of condensation that builds up prior to fire fighting operations.  It does not clean the outside of the mask of soot and debris caused by firefighting.

Will the magnet fall off ?

MaskView is made from the strongest magnet available for commercial use.  The Neodymium magnet is strong but not full proof.  If you throw the mask to the ground or if your mask is struck it is possible it will come off.  The magnet will not just fall off the mask!  To appreciate the power of the magnet you must see it!

Will the magnet weaken over time ?

There is no evidence of the magnet weakening over time and there is no literature that I could find that states that it will.

How do you clean the felt ?

You can clean the felt by using regular soap and water.  The felt will stain, but it can be cleaned.

Will the felt wear out ?

The felt is industrial grade and surprisingly durable.  The original MaskView is still in service to this date.  As with any product, continuous use will cause wear to the product.  The original prototype is still being used today.  It is over a year old!

Does it damage the mask ?

Again, there is no evidence of MaskView damaging the mask.  No scratches were noticed due to use.  And unlike chemicals it will not discolor the mask when applied.  (Scott is recommending to not use any chemical mask defog on there masks)

Will MaskView stand up to the heat ?

MaskView has been tested in house to withstand temperatures up to 450 degrees and passed a direct flame test until 45 seconds.
